CAGES
LDG Productions LLC
( 03/08/2012 - 07/15/2012 )
Running Time: 95 minutes
After its successful run at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, Cages comes to The Matrix Theatre. Cages tells the story of Dr. Thomas Morri, a disgraced prison psychologist. Given a last chance to redeem himself, Morri, along with a beautiful younger colleague, is given charge over the most extreme cases in the California penal system. His interactions with these deeply disturbed inmates give rise to unforeseen professional and personal consequences. This poignant exploration of a controversial topic was written by playwright Leonard Manzella, once a leading man of Italian film who became a psychodramatist and then a psychotherapist upon his return to the states. Cages is based on Manzella's experiences treating mentally ill inmates in a California penal facility.
