The LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards are the only peer-judged theatre awards in Los Angeles. Called the "...highest-profile contest for local theatre..." by the Los Angeles Times, the Ovation Awards are an invaluable opportunity to bring the theatre community together and focus public attention on our city’s diverse cultural life. Each year the Ovation Awards draw national attention to the quality and quantity of professional theatre in Los Angeles.
The 2007 Ovation Awards were held at the Orpheum Theatre in Historic Downtown Los Angeles, and were hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

LA Stage Alliance is currently accepting Ovation Voter Applications
for the 2008-2009 Season (beginning September 1, 2008).
Applications from self-submitted voter candidates are due to LA Stage Alliance by
5:00 pm on Monday, June 30.
Please be aware that this season, the application process for self-submitted voters is much more competitive than in years past. The Ovation Review Committee is inviting all artistic directors of LA Stage Alliance Member Theatres (who have been producing for at least three years, and have produced at least three full productions in the last three years) to automatically form the core of the Ovation Voting Pool. After that, the Review Committee is considering Voter Candidates who have been personally recommended by those Artistic Directors.
Once those two tiers of voters have been invited and their applications have been processed and evaluated, the Review Committee will consider applications from self-submitted voters. We estimate that approximately 60 self-submitted voters will be approved to join the voter pool for 2008-2009. Please take the time to consider your answers to the application to make your submission as competitive as possible! Thank you for your time and interest in serving the Greater Los Angeles theatre community!
